One of the things on my 101 in 1001 goal list is a 365 project. 1 photo for each day of the year. I have always wanted to do one but when January 1st came....I just didn't. I had a dear friend start hers in December of last year and have watched all that has come out of it and been amazed. A few weeks ago I decided to follow her lead and start on the day of my choosing... October 10. The day I turn... 33. (eek!) I thought it would be amazing to capture a year in my life.
I have been trying to be more intentional the past week at taking photos...at least 1 a day. It's funny how you start noticing things differently. It becomes about capturing moments. So you can look back and remember. Funny. Poignant. Sad. Happy. Or just an interesting glimpse of your day.
I am still trying to decided how to document my photos (a different website...flickr...or do a post here weekly with the 7 shots I took of that week.) but I do know I want to do this...to be able to look back and not only read words of my years but to see them too.
Since I almost always have my phone with me I know a lot of shots will be taken with it. So I am glad to have the fun app Instagram (if you have an iPhone...it is a must have app! Oh and it's free!) to make my photos a little more fun and easy to share. (you can see all my photos if you want...you will notice two things...I like to take photos of my niece and my shoes...HA!)
So I thought I would give you a glimpse at my week so far....
My niece on Saturday...paying attention to her dolly...who two seconds later was thrown to the floor. ;)
A little while back it came to me I wanted to have a word wall. A wall of words that meant something to me and would spur me on and help me remember why I am here. Last Friday I happen to run into a great deal on some small canvases and paint. So Saturday and Sunday I got my hand dirty creatively and made the first three words. Hope. Joy. Adventure. There are 6 more words to be done but so far I am enjoying it...and being creative in a different way is fun. (I am NOT a painter or really very creative this way but I wanted these in my handwriting...to create them to be mine.)
I recieved my new planner! I am all kinds of geeky about planners. I enjoy having my plans laid out and written down and knowing what my week looks like before it starts. I happened upon a good deal for an erincondren.com gift certificate at the beginning of the year and was finally able to use it to splurge on this planner (and the personalized note cards...which I now feel I should send some snail mail to favorite people...ha!). I chose it for the quote. To remind me to keep moving forward with my dreams and the life I have imagined.
After trying to remember this last week to take photos I realize one thing...I am going to have to get more creative and capture unique things at times :)
The excitement of this project has me ready to begin...I hope it stays that way!
Have you ever done or thought about doing a Project 365?
