Hello Peaches! I am so bummed I missed last week but so glad to be back today....
So The Wednesday What is where I ask a question and then we answer and discuss in the comments! Just so you know I always reply in the comments (and sometimes other people do too!) So don't forget to come back for more chatting and fun!
This month's theme is Christmas and today's question is...
What is one of your favorite Christmas traditions?
See you in the comments!
We started a tradition after Taylor was born and have continued it with each child. Every year we pick a book that is significant to their year or interest and Paul and I both write messages in the front cover and date it. We then give it to them on Christmas. Some day they will have many books that have messages from every year of their childhood.
Loved reading everyone's answers.
Blessings,
Amy

I love looking at Christmas lights and enjoying the festivities that our town offers during this season.

I just love Christmas movies and I think watching them as a family is the best! I love that you got to introduce a new tradition to your husbands family :o)

I absolutely adore the Nutcracker. It is so moving. The music. The dance.
I have never decorated a real gingerbread house but it sounds so fun!

It sounds so delightful Joanne...and the craziness is part of the fun in my opinion ;)

I think putting out our simple nativity that we purchased as a newly married couple 37 years ago is definitely a tradition. It is simple and very non fancy but that is all we could afford at the time.

My family always makes an Anise flavored cookie called Springerle. They are sort of ugly and light licorice in flavor. Most people don't like them...but I find it amazing that my husband and his parents were introduced to them (when we were married in Dec. '03) and it's the ONE THING that my MIL asks me to bring to Christmas each year. Funny! Oh, and we always watch White Christmas, Charlie Brown's Christmas and the Grinch...over and over during the month. We've added The Muppet's Christmas Carol and Polar Express since the kids too!

The Nutcracker Ballet is my favorite tradition - getting dressed up, and going to see it every year.
But I also LOVE decorating my annual gingerbread house the week before Christmas.

I'd say decorating the tree with the kids (with Christmas music on in the background, of course!!). Can get crazy, but it's fun, and definitely gets me in the Christmas spirit.

I am thinking of making a new tradition this year and attending a Christmas eve candlelight service. That is sort of where this question came from because I was thinking about it. I think I am going to find some churches in the area that hold one and choose.
Yay for fun times with friends at Christmas!

Okay. I think you should share these recipes with me. I promise not to share them with anyone else. ;) Pinky swear promise.
Have fun on Friday making those sweet treats!

I love the Christmas Eve candlelight service. We always went every year growing up and sadly now my church doesn't hold one :( I am thinking about just going to a random church's service this year because I love it so.
Similar to your's C, I go to a movie with my friends on Christmas Eve :)

One of my favorite traditions is one I have with a few of my girlfriends. We go to a movie every Christmas night. We have been doing it for the last 9 or 10 years. It is so wonderful to just spend time with them and have fun laughing and talking...and watching a movie. :o)
